Methane appears in 34% of a set of 1,100 corporate sustainability reports published in 2025 that SPECTRA recently analyzed. Nitrous oxide appears in 25%. The term ‘HFC’ and ‘HCFC’? Just 18%. The term “super pollutants” and its variations? 0%.

We reviewed more than 1,100 corporate sustainability reports across industries, published in 2025 and originally compiled by Trellis Group, to understand how companies are talking about - and acting on - methane, refrigerants, nitrous oxide and other superpollutants.
